Organisational Challenge
What organisation?
Your collective effort to become engaged in flexibility and/or P2P will need a formal organisational structure, so you can act as a legally recognized actor in the energy system. This way, you can access funding, subsidies, etc. It is also important to have a system in place to take decisions democratically and to determine how control and ownership will be organised. When is the organization ready?
Your organization is fully ready when it has the legal and practical ability to engage, plan, decide, communicate, organise, finance and administer affairs related to P2P energy trading, in line with community goals and values. How to find out if youre organizationally ready?
There are questions about- Formal and informal organisational structure & governance. For example, do you have a formal organisational structure, e.g., a cooperative, an association? Are statutes in place, or there are any formal agreements?
- Internal alignment: how to organise collaboration internally and distribute benefits?
- Resources, skills & competences: what type of skills are needed? Which specific competences and resources are available internally? Which ones are not and how they can it be sourced externally?
- Broader collaboration: collaboration with other stakeholders which can increase the chances that your project will achieve its goals.
